October 2023 – Lyric Writing Competition!
Are you over 18 and a budding writer? Do you want to win $1000 and have your words made into a song? Well, here’s your chance!
The Rose City FM Lyric Writing Competition, sponsored by Rose City FM and the Downs Explorer.
If you live in the Southern Downs Regional Council area, all you have to do is write lyrics (80-330 words) on a theme of your choice. Go to Facebook and like our page, and while you are there click on the link to enter. Or you can get an entry form and drop it off at Club Warwick RSL.
Entries close on 17th January 2024, and then all the fun begins!!
The best 6 entries will be posted on Facebook and your friends and family can vote on the best! The Rose City FM Competition Committee will also be judging.
The winner will receive $1000 prize money and their lyrics will be made into a song and played on the radio!
We also have a fabulous runner up prize – 2 tickets on the Warwick to Wallangarra, including lunch with The Downs Explorer. A prize worth almost $400!
When the winner has been determined their lyrics will be set to music by a professional composer, then played on the radio!
